Usage

Supplying materials

Dedicated material slots accept only materials used in that role. Empty slots stay blank and show materials after insertion. Quick moves from your inventory and hopper insertion follow the same restrictions.

What goes in

One plant ash and one water bottle give a bottle of kansui. Ash goes in from above and the bottle from the sides, as with the jar. No heat, no sun.

No empty bottle

The bottle is not emptied here — the water itself becomes the lye, so the same bottle leaves as the kansui bottle.

Input, work in progress and output

Restock the input slots on the left. A valid batch moves into the bright working slots in the middle, then finishes in the output slots on the right. Restocking or replacing input does not change that batch. Working items can be recovered, but cannot be inserted directly. Removing part of a batch cancels it; recover the remainder before starting another.

Slot layout and supply

Input and working slots are arranged vertically. Feed the upper input from above and the lower input from the sides.

Behavior

Not the brine vat

The brine vat is also a wooden tub of water, but what it yields is concentrated seawater. Lye is alkaline water leached from wood ash — a different substance, so a different tub.
