Usage
Holding it up
While you keep using it in hand you sink slowly and land unhurt. Let go and the effect ends on the spot. Holding it up wears it down. Unbreaking and Mending can extend its life; when it breaks, make another from a leaf and stalk.
Which hand holds it
Held in your main hand it takes the place of a tool or weapon; held in your off hand it takes the place of a shield or a totem. Swap hands to suit the drop ahead of you.
Behavior
While it is open
You cannot land critical hits while you are sinking slowly. The fall softens and nothing else shows — no particles, no status icon.
What it will not do
It keeps no rain off, and it neither flies nor glides. It is not something you wear, so it does not go into an armor slot, and it is no weapon.
