Refractory clay goes into a furnace and comes out as firebrick. It is the material the pottery kiln is built from, so the first kiln can be started from an ordinary furnace.
Behavior
Not the same as an ordinary brick
It is pale buff rather than red, and it does not stand in for ordinary brickwork. Its use is the furnace lining of a kiln.

In the real world
A firebrick is grog — clay already fired once — bound with raw clay, shaped, dried and then fired again. The pre-fired aggregate holds the shape through repeated heating.
Differences in game
Satoyama does not model refractoriness grades, nor the split between clay-based and silica-based refractories. There is one brick, and it builds the kiln.
