Sweet potato steamed soft. Good as it is.
Obtaining
Wooden Steamer→20s
Usage
The step before hoshiimo
Steam it, then dry it, and it becomes hoshiimo. Skip the steaming and it will not be sweet: the sugar comes from the starch turning during the steam, not from the drying.
Advancements
Pantry MasteryChallenge
Get one of every preparation the provisions maker can make, from salt to stock
In the real world
Held around 60-70C, the starch in a sweet potato is turned to maltose by its own enzymes. The steamer keeps it in that band.
Differences in game
Satoyama has no temperature band; time in the steamer is enough.
