Usage
The shinobi look
Put it in the head armor slot to wear it wrapped over head and neck with your face left open. It guards nothing, but while you wear it you walk and run a little faster.
Mending it
It wears out as you wear it. Repair it on an anvil with wisteria cloth; Unbreaking and Mending take to it.
Behavior
Four pieces make the outfit
The hood, jacket, trousers and socks are one outfit of the same cloth, and each piece you put on lightens your step. With all four you run about as fast as a Swiftness potion would carry you. No effect icon and no particles appear — take one off and you lose that share of the speed.
It trades away protection
The hood gives no protection at all, and even the full outfit stays far softer than a leather set. Protection enchantments will not take to it either. This is a look that trades away armour for speed.
One thing on your head
There is only one head slot, so while the hood is on you can wear neither the straw hat nor the headband. You choose the speed or you choose what those give you.

In the real world
A kuro zukin is a single cloth that wraps head and neck as one. A flat fold runs across the crown, the cloth falls to either side and behind, and its lower edge winds around the neck. It is worn either covering all but the eyes, or with the face left open. The jacket, trousers and socks are separate cloths of the same outfit.
Differences in game
Historical shinobi clothing also included dark grey or navy work clothes; satoyama uses black throughout. The increase in movement speed while wearing it is a game effect.
