In the real world
Sorakita mochi belongs to the village of Himeshima in Oita. Boiled and crushed sweet potato is split in two — half kneaded with strong flour into a dough, half sweetened with sugar and salt into a filling — then wrapped and dusted with kinako. The name is said to come from how quickly it can be made when a guest arrives unannounced.
Differences in game
The two-layer preparation of potato filling wrapped in potato dough is omitted. Sugar and salt are added on the outside as sweetened kinako rather than to the filling. Dough thickness, shaping and cooking the flour with residual heat cannot be adjusted.
