Planted asMyoga Rhizome

A red flower bud picked at the base of a leafy myoga stand.

A perennial for moist farmland. Red flower buds emerge at the base of a mature stand; right-click a ripe bud to pick it while the leafy plant remains. Propagate it from rhizomes, first found in wild stands in dark forests.

Ecological basis

Myoga is a perennial ginger of humid temperate China and Japan. Dark forest represents its moist, humus-rich and partly shaded woodland floor.

Usage

Picking ground-level buds

Harvest the red bud at soil level, not the leaves. Pick it once plump and the leafy stand remains to produce another.
